More Than Robots®
FIRST® is a global robotics community that prepares young people for the future through hands-on STEM learning. Students work alongside mentors to design, build, program, solve problems, and compete—all while developing confidence, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
Across Texas, students participate in FIRST® LEGO® League, FIRST® Tech Challenge, and FIRST® Robotics Competition through local teams, events, and regional communities.

How Programs Work in Texas
Once you have identified the FIRST® program that fits your needs, the next step is understanding how it is delivered in your community. Across a state as large and diverse as Texas, local event hosts, coaches, mentors, and volunteers work together to create welcoming, high-quality experiences for students.

FIRST LEGO League
FIRST LEGO League is organized into six Texas regions: Panhandle, West, North, Central, East, and South. Each region connects teams with local events and opportunities to advance through the season.
FIRST Tech Challenge
FIRST Tech Challenge is organized into five regions: West & Panhandle, North, Central, East, and South. Regional competition models may include leagues, qualifying tournaments, or other local pathways, all leading toward Regional Championships and additional advancement opportunities.
FIRST Robotics Competition
FIRST Robotics Competition teams across Texas and New Mexico compete together as one district. Teams participate in district events throughout the season, with top-performing teams advancing to the District Championship and beyond.
